Hobbs Farm -A.L.

On September 29, InterVarsity Christian Fellowship visited Hobbs Farm as a community service project.  Hobbs farm has gone through a lot in the past hundred years.  After the owner passed away in the late 1990′s, the farm was given to Bethel Church.  Over the years, this farm became the provider of several local food ministries all over Long Island.  It was an amazing experience for us college students to be a part of this ministry.  A total of 12 students attended.  We were able to pick eggplants and dig up sweet potatoes.  This work was more tedious than it sounds.  It was also a very humbling experience for us.  We were able to see how much people have to work for food on a daily basis.  In the mean time, all a meal takes from us is a trip to the supermarket or a restaurant.  This was a great time for us to fellowship and serve God together.  We are definitely looking forward to more experiences with Hobbs farm in the future.
